Providence Schools

The Providence Public School District provides educational services for pre-kindergarten students to twelfth grade. The district also services magnet schools for middle school and high school students. Besides these schools, the district also has two institutions for students who have special needs. In addition to the public schools, Providence also has the University of Rhode Island, which is a public research university. The university has three campuses throughout Rhode Island besides the main campus, which is located in Kingston. Brown University, which is located in Providence, Rhode Island, is a private university. Brown University accepts students from all religious backgrounds. Another school is Providence is the Rhode Island School of Design. It is one of the best fine arts centers in the United States. Students who attend Rhode Island School of Design or Brown University can also take courses at the other institution since the two centers share social, academic, and community resources
