There are three major school districts in Aurora, Illinois: East Aurora Public School District 131, West Aurora Public School District 129, and Indian Prairie School District 204. The East Aurora Public School District 131 provides educational services for twelve elementary schools, three middle schools, one middle school academy, and two high schools. East Aurora High School, which is in the East Aurora District 131, is a public school for ninth through twelfth grade students. The West Side Public School District owns and operates school busess. The Indian Prairie School District 204, which is the youngest district of the three, has seven elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and one alternative high school. The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, which is a three-year public high school in Aurora, has students enrolled in college preparatory courses. All of the students take classes at the honors level. Waubonsee Community College, which is a two-year community college, serves twelve public school districts. Aurora University, which is a private four-year co-educational liberal arts college, has the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, and the College of Professional Studies.
