  • Iam glad that my child attends this school since kinder she had a very good teacher she took extra time to teach many of her students that needed a bit more help and i find that to have teachers that dedicated to teach students must be a great school!!
Although only down side to this school is their parking boy is it bad but education wise its the better than the other elementary school in vallejo

  • I am proud that this school is located in Vallejo. The school strives to stress the importance of taking responsibility for oneself, and respecting yourself and others. My child was mainstreamed to Wardlaw & I feared other children may tease him due to his disability. The children are wonderful, caring and accepting. Gives me hope for society and the future (truly). The curriculum is strong and the leadership sound.

  • This is a wonderful school. It has been run effectively by its founding principal (a new principal is in place in 09-10 following the retirement of the founding principal). Because the school has had such stable leadership, it has a strong infrastructure as well as deep expertise in teaching and pedagogy. Because of the range of students, these teachers know how to teach - they don't expect that parents will fill in the gaps. This is important to understand, because in many "high performing" schools, the highly educated parents step in when teaching fails, which frequently masks the inferiority of the teaching. I know, because I sent my older child to one of those schools with an API of 900. My younger child, at Wardlaw, has consistently had better teachers than my older child had at the 900 API school. The school is in a lovely suburban neighborhood setting, with spacious grounds. I only wish more parents would look toward this hidden gem when looking for an elementary school for their children. More parental involvement would only make this school better.

I am an educator and I know schools; this one is exemplary. My child is thriving at Wardlaw.
