  • Homer High school doesn't have a big hard drug problem, though there's always gonna be a few kids who use them no matter where you are, but for the most part, kids just smoke pot from time to time, or regularly. And if you have any actual knowledge of marijuana, it's really not that big of a deal. The teachers are interesting people, the students are generally accepting and there is little to no bullying from what I've observed.

  • I agree that Homer High School in Alaska has serious problems with drugs, alcohol, other illegal activities, improper activities, lack of parental involvement, and lack of administrative involvement to address the problems. I strongly believe that random drug and alcohol testing would help to define and address the problem. And that no student found to be using drugs or alcohol should be stressing their bodies by playing sports of any type, random testing like that in Juneau should be implemented. Someone needs to clean this school up! I withdrew my student as well.

  • I am a parent who was very disappointed in this school, This was my child's first year here and I could not believe the DRUG problem this school has I could not believe that meth and cocaine was all over this school, I was very disappointed with the low standards and nobody addressing the major drug being sold at school.I wish we had a private school or another alternative.
