  • All of you people who say that Shallotte Middle is a bad school, need to get your facts striaght. I am currently a seventh grader in the AIG classes and I am learning far more than I have ever learned in my life THIS YEAR. Our teachers do EVERYTHING they can to make us succeed. It is NOT our teachers' fault if your child is failing and not applying theirselves. If they tried, they would do a a great deal better in school if they wanted to. I know it doesn't matter, but froin my opinion, it's the parents' fault if their child is failing. THEY should be the ones pushing their child to do good. The teachers can only do but so much. I've had amazing opportunities to do my best this year. You say your child is being bullied. Well so is everyone else at this wonderful school by your saying of discrimination. The rumors ARE NOT TRUE. The crap said about our school is a bunch of bull. Mr. Price is a great principal and we couldn't ask for better teachers. I feel safe at this school because I know if something bad DOES happen, I KNOW FOR A FACT it WILL get taken care of. Our teachers want the best for us. It's no one's fault if your child chooses not to pay attention and do their best. I don't know of anyone who feel threatened at this school, and I'm friends with a great deal of different people. Not one of them have ever said they felt unprotected at this school. There are always staff members randomly roaming the halls, and not to mention CAMERAS all over the entire building. Mr. Rogers is a great SRO for this school. He protects it with all of his power. We have a school of educated young people who either WANT to learn and succeed, or people who were taught by PARENTS not to care about education. I'm not saying specifics, but I could name a great deal of people who were taught not to care. But then again, MOST of our family, and I use family because our school has the best family of staff and students, have the ability to gain a well-needed education from Shallotte Middle. As "this person" (quotes used 'cause I think I know who it was) said above me, think of yourselves when you think of bullying. Simply because you guys are the ones talkin' crap about OUR school. If you hate it so freakin' much take your child OUT OF IT. We don't need more insults being thrown from unworthy mouths about stuff that IS NOT true. So get the facts before you say what you say. This is the greatest school in the county, and when I say that I mean ALL OF IT. Sports, academics, education, teachers, leaders, students, the whole shibang. The best is at SMS, with our PIRATE FAMILY.

  • Shallotte Middle is an awesome school!!!!! I don't know anyone who is threatened or personally bullied. At Shallotte Middle, we don't have popular people, nerdy people, or dumb people, we have a family. I feel that I can depend on this family for a foundation for my school career. If only parents could step in my shoes for a day and see that all these RUMORS are not true. I have made straight A's all year and have made a perfect score on the reading EOG. You say that kids are bullies, yet look at yourselves. People who are bullying EDUCATED INTELLIGENT people. So I hope each one of you who have posted these HORRIBLE DISRESPECTFUL UNEDUCATED posts, will think of yourselves when you bring up bullying. You are more of a bully than any person at school. You are the people who are spreading rumors!!!!! And for each one of our staff workers, I want to comment and let you know they have succeeded in graduating from the best schools in the eastern part of the state. If you think you can do better than them, why don't you? Oh wait, you won't and you can't. This is a PIRATE FAMILY that will not be torn apart by rumors.

  • I think Shallotte middle is a great school. I am a student there and I am it the AIG classes. I do not think that parents know what actually goes on at school. Mr. Price is an awesome leader. I have succeeded in the many sports and have learned under amazing teachers. I am so tired of my school being cut down again and again. You should want to help your local school, not cut down the people who are doing better than anyone else could. So believe one who actually knows what goes on each day. What some of these posts are, are just pure disrespect to great people who are very educated. Please stop these horrible posts!

  • If you think this school is so bad - why don't you take your child out. Mr. Price, Ms. Barnes and Mr. Rogers have done nothing but improve Shallotte Middle school. These are very intelligent people that you are talking about so if they believe the so called bullies maybe you are not getting the whole story from your child. They take these matters seriously whether you believe it or not. Like I said in the begin....take your child out and send her to provate school!
