  • I believe a school is more than just the quality of the education.
I believe the culture of a school is just as important
Like many warm and wonderful things about Haverhill, one of the endearing aspects of this school is the fact that many of the teachers have taught in the Haverhill school system, and at this school for many years. Many of the teachers live in Haverhill and have gone through the Haverhill school system before pursuing higher education. The staff are passionate about the public school system and work hard to make it work
My son came from a private school atmosphere so it isn't fair to judge the curriculum against what my son was exposed to and the workload that was expected from him. If I did, I would say the workload was not as demanding as I would have liked. The extracurricular activities are limited but the parents and teachers work hard to make the most of what they have going.
Most of the kids are supremely happy to be part of the school. Many of the parents, long time Haverhill natives are actively involved in the school
The school itself was built in the 1970s, is a bit retro and needs a face lift. But the teachers and administration are excellent and responsive. They really care about the kids and feel they have a real investment in the school. Although middle school is never easy, the incidences are small and insignificant compared to other middle schools
This is a school we all remember attending when we were growing up. The warmth and caring of the teachers and staff(remembering your child's name)and the coziness of the classrooms makes it a nice neighborhood school
    ...like most of Haverhill's schools.
