(5 / 5) Flag as inappropriate - I have to disagree with the other reviewer. I love Gates Elementary. The teachers are great and really care about the kids and are excited to teach and have the kids learn! They use positive reinforcement which every child needs :) The office staff is ever so helpful and I have never experienced rudeness or disrespect from them! In fact I have found just the opposite...
I have found them going out of their way to help me solve a problem or help me out. The busing system is very organized and the parent drop off system is so helpful in the morning...they have someone greet my child at the car door as I pull up and help them into the school! I give Davison schools a 5 star!

- If your a single father wanting information on your child, i.e. report cards etc... You can forget about that because the school simply wont send it! Even though you have the right to it under Michigan Law (722.30 Access to records or information by noncustodial parent.
Sec. 10.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a parent shall not be denied access to records or information concerning his or her child because the parent is not the child's custodial parent, unless the parent is prohibited from having access to the records or information by a protective order. As used in this section, “records or information” includes, but is not limited to, medical, dental, and school records, day care provider's records, and notification of meetings regarding the child's education.

- this school is old and needs updates as all davison and flint schools do the teacher in room 20 is very kind however the office staff are rude not only to kids put to parets i was tlking with 4 other mother and found i was not the only one having issues with gates school office staff they are not only caddy they are flat out dissrespectful
