- I was looking up the name of the park next to the pond for a project I am working on & was filled with fond memories as I ran across this site. So...I thought I would take the time to say thanks for a great start! I was in K class 1968 & Reader's 1st grade, with the principal. The fact that at 44 I know those names is testimony enough, eh? I moved to Houston in 1st grade but my days at 'UT' were some of the best- a safe place to be curious & creative, the school & those teachers hard wired a love of school & learning that has lasted a lifetime;( I just finished my MBA in 2000). My grandmother sent me a NY Times articles on Yolanda Reilly's "Teacher of the Year" award decades ago, but even before that validation I knew how lucky I was. Allentown has grown up a lot since I left but it was great to see your national ranking still so high!
