- Meets all listed guidelines to excellence. Nice small atmosphere. Student work displayed frequently in halls. Happy and orderly students. Open communication with parents. Great with special needs. Parental involvement in school activities is high. Safe environment. Teachers prepare students exceptionally well for SOL test, which in turn students do very well on. Overall wonderful school!

- This school is very small and organized. However, some teacher's are not very creative in teaching students who learn in different ways then traditionally classroom instruction. The staff is very nice, but follow-through is poor. Also, some teacher's have difficulty meeting children at their current level of comphrension and instead suggest that retention is the solution even when children may be learning disabled. Overall, it is a nice school, but may not be the best fit for children who "think outside the box"!

(Rating: 3 / 5) Report As Inappropriate - Fort Lewis is an excellent school with great parental involvement. Most of the staff is wonderful. Last year's principal was excellent however this year's principal does not seem to be nearly as knowledgable, efficient or educated. However, the school is still a wonderful place to educate children!
