Using a Thesaurus
In this lesson, students will learn to use a Thesaurus. They will have a worksheet of words that they are to look up and find other words that they can use in place of the given words. They will also write sentences for each new word.
First, you will copy the worksheet so that each student will have a copy.
Then, you will explain what a Thesaurus is and how to use it.
After that, you will pass out the worksheets and have the students work independently.

Directions: Look up the following words in a Thesaurus and find other words that you can use instead of the given words. Then, write the words in sentences.

You can give 5 points for each correct answer and sentence.
100 to 90 = A
89 to 80 = B
79 to 70 = C
69 to 60 = D
