  • I pulled my kids out of Highlands this year after being ther eand putting up with the principal, Dr. Martinez for 5 LONG years! That woman should NEVER have been an elementary school principal! She is a phony, she lied to us, other parents, and even the local news paper on many occasions. She doesn't care about the families, and even talks bad about them behind thier backs. She is an awful woman who made a wonderful school become one of the worst schools in this county. Her FCAT A and B ratings mean NOTHING because the school is so awful. I for one am GLAD to be out of there! It is so sad because the teachers are great, but they have to suffer under her so called leadership.

  • The teachers are WONDERFUL! It's the principal..she is holding the teachers back. There is little parent involvement in this school, because the principal won't have the kids put on plays, there are no family events, there is a PTA but there are no meetings..and the 1 or 2 there were, they were right at 5 pm so nobody could get there in time. It would be a great school under different leadership.
