    * Learn about a specific area in geography

    * To write a secret message
  •
  • Materials Needed

    * Note cards to take notes

  •
  • Procedure

  • First, you can give the students an example of a secret message so they can see what they are to do.

Example: They can take a specific area in geography such as Africa and write a secret message about the climate, mountains, or combine more than one aspect of Africa that students can guess.

Example of a Secret Message: This is a large place and has the largest desert in the world. It also has mountains and different climate zones. What is it?

After you explain the example, you will have the students select a specific area they have studied or are studying in geography. They will read about that area and take notes.

After that, they will write a secret message about their area.

Finally, they will present their secret message to the class to have the other students guess their area.

  • Grading

  • You can grade the students on how well they wrote their secret message and how accurate their information is of the area they chose.
